提要文摘: | Why have to write a textbook for electromagnetic fields and waves? For undergraduate students majoring electronic information and communication engineering, the course of electromagnetic fields and waves is a compulsory core course. There are many excellent textbooks for this course. Why still need a textbook? The answer is simple. In order to follow the 21-century syllabus. on one hand, the condensed class hours need concise course contents. On the other hand, more attention need to be paid to time- varying electromagnetics in comparison with static electromagnetics, since the nowadays applications mainly on time-varying cases. Purpose and contents for this textbookThe course of electromagnetic fields and waves is generally considered as a tough course for students, as well as for teachers. The main reasons rely on that most of electromagnetic quantities are vectors and function of time and space which are considered as abstractions for many students, and their manipulations require the knowledge of advanced math.To lessen the difficulties, in this book we strive to weak the complicated formula derivation, and pay more attention to the physical concepts behind the formula and the extended solving methodologies. We also try to make the content more concise, smoother and more rendable. |
